CORONAVIRUS - information regarding the spread of coronavirus, and its impact on Astbury school
This page will be updated as regularly as possible with information regarding the spread of coronavirus, and its impact on our school.
School is open for children of key workers and vulnerable children. From Monday 15th June, school is also open for Pre-School and reception children. From Monday 22nd June, school is open to children in Y1 and from Monday 29th June, school is open to children in Y6. Our Academy (CDAT) Trust Board has approved our health and safety planning for wider opening from Monday 15th June.
From Monday 23rd March, the announcement by the Secretary of State said that school will only be open to children of key workers, children with an educational health care plan and children supported by a social worker.
If you are a keyworker and have been given permission for your child to attend school, please ensure there is no other option before you contact us regarding sending your child to school.
Gavin Williamson (Secretary of State for Education) has sent out the following message.
“You should only send your child to school if you have to, because your work is critical to our COVID-19 response. If you are able to keep your child at home you should.”
Schools are closed to stop the spread of the virus. Please remember this.
The school has the right to and may ask that your employer confirms in writing that, based on their business continuity arrangements, your specific role is necessary for the continuation of this essential public service.
