Target Tracker is a tracking and assessment tool that has been adopted by many schools in the Chester Diocesan Academies Trust (CDAT). At Astbury School, we use target tracker to assess children against Age Related Expectations (AREs). Year group expectations (AREs) for reading, writing and maths can be found below. For Year one, read band one, for Year two, read band two etc.
Each term, for children in Y1 - Y6, parents will receive information about their child's progress in reading, writing and maths and for EYFS children, this will be information about the EYFS areas of development.
As well as ongoing termly assessment, your child has a statutory assessment at the end of the EYFS, end of KS1 and end of KS2. The criteria against which they are assessed is included below.
